Ashes Escape 09:04
Verse This man worn down by time A shell of what once was Through echoes of the past One can see his plight Through moments’ whispers A flood of pain With no remorse He turns his back on them Verse: Now he wanders These barren landscapes An echo of himself A ghostly presence Over endless mountains His footsteps fall He ceases to be real Chorus: Trapped in its shell the soul shall scream for its release Dead to the world Hollow existence Torture shall be The essence of this life As ashes escape Tranquility falls Verse The protagonist takes his life Stolen A tragic loss to them His liberation over forested mountains His spirit runs free Peace finds him at last Tranquility Chorus: Trapped in its shell the soul shall scream for its release Dead to the world Hollow existence Torture shall be The essence of this life As ashes escape Tranquility falls

Coalescence 09:00
Verse I am the slime above the ground, The dust on the laces of your shoes, In hindsight, the ever screaming glow, In memory, the slow and melting snow. Verse I am the ache upon the mountains, The breath of a famine skyline, In hindsight, the unrelenting toil, In memory, the never ending foil. Break Stretch the paralyzed wings of the dark, Shade the shames that wallow below. Heed the pouring flames once stolen, Bathe in the decay of my once sought sigh. Chorus I am the fury and cacophony, I am the razor in your ears, I am the implosion of your dreams, I am the explosion of your universe I am the death of all you know I am the bane of your tainted soul I am the implosion of your dreams I am the explosion of your universe Break Stretch the paralyzed wings of the dark, Shade the shames that wallow below. Heed the pouring flames once stolen, Bathe in the decay of my once sought sigh. Verse I am the sour taste in the floods, The aromas of sin behind your thoughts, In hindsight, a plunge of temptation, In memory, a wound of temptations. Chorus I am the fury and cacophony, I am the razor in your ears, I am the implosion of your dreams, I am the explosion of your universe I am the death of all you know I am the bane of your tainted soul I am the implosion of your dreams I am the explosion of your universe

At the dusk of your daunting gaze Comes the woe of my purest snow Cancerous despair, spiritual demise Wallowing in the hollowness of my veins And at the feet Of your pervasive words Come the aversion of my tainted skies Clouds of inherent aches Amass and arise Ulterior pain, condensed into a tear (Ulterior pain, into a tear) Lustful touches upon my barren earth (Lustful, my barren earth) Conceive the spawn of this disease (Conceive the spawn of this disease) Consuming the breath I heed no more (Consuming the breath I heed no more) You articulate my self-denigration, You speak my estranged desires, Coals that burn my pyre to ruins, A whore who bred my vain progenies. And in the stillness above strange soils Life’s canticles are chanted in doubt Salvaging comes at the cold of my palms A confirmation of passing, seared to the sky

Acheron 10:13
Centuries So sickly were they formed Parasitic emulations of life Hostile to their own kind Their progenies are naught but pain Aeons unfold Amounting to nothing The favorite Indulgences of the weak Depravity in its earthly form These lands hold no mercy for the meek Oh The plague of mortality None shall escape its grasp Oh This world of hopelessness Pestilence shall inherit the land Suffering The product of an earthly life Death holds them in his frozen grasp Like cattle they wander To the slaughter Like sheep They wander to their demise Silence is the only escape From this nightmare Of being awake Night falls and the pain subsides And await the embrace of the Void As you take your life Oh The plague of mortality None shall escape its grasp Oh This world of hopelessness Pestilence shall inherit the land

about

Acheron is a concept album detailing the struggles of human existence, the hopelessness and pestilence that is mortal life, and the failure of humanity as a whole. The album is broken up into 4 chapters, separated by instrumentals which introduce the listener to each new musical and plot related concept.

The album deviates from previous releases musically in that it focuses more on song writing, layering guitar, orchestra, and vocal parts on and then stripping back down to basics rather than the standard dual guitar part with orchestras as shown on Omens and to a lesser extent on The Ballad of Misanthropy. This was done as an experiment in songwriting, and lends itself better the to overall mood of hopelessness, melancholy, and despair that the story is based around.
